Representing a hybrid between a traditional film festival and an audience participation event FIRST TIME FEST is a celebration of first time filmmakers.

Just as Quentin Tarantino had RESERVOIR DOGS, Orson Welles his CITIZEN KANE, Sam Mendes’ AMERICAN BEAUTY, Rob Reiner with THIS IS SPINAL TAP and John Huston’s THE MALTESE FALCON as their first works, the mission of FIRST TIME FEST is to discover and present the next generation of great cinema artists.

Each one of First Time Fest’s twelve finalists will be judged by a panel of entertainment industry luminaries and a specially chosen group of avid moviegoers. Together, they will engage the films and filmmakers of the Festival and will ultimately select a Grand Prize winner, which will be receive theatrical distribution for their film. It will truly be a contest of the very best emerging filmmakers receiving the Ultimate Audience Award.
